Where can I find Sherwood Island Oysters?
Our production is located in Westport, CT. The best way to get some SIO on your hands is to order them from our website (link to ordering page) (comming soon), via our distributors (link to distributor page) or inquiry at info@sherwoodislandoysters.com if you would like to place a pick-up order.
Can I order oysters online? What is the shipping process?
You will be able to order online in the next coming months. However since we want you to have our freshest oysters we have to verify availability and shipping window once you place your order. If we have availability, you will be notified as soon as we can confirm or we will follow up via email with our next possible shipping dates.
How will I know my order (oysters) is accepted? If so, when will my order ship?
We want to guarantee our customers with the freshest product possible. Therefore, we need to manually accept each order to ensure we have fresh oysters available for you! If your order is accepted you will receive an email confirmation and another email with your tracking number.
How will I know my order (merch) is accepted? If so, when will my order ship?
You will receive a confirmation email once your order is accepted and shipped. We usually send our packages one or two times per week, so you will be receiving your confirmation email and shipping information in 5-7 business days.
What types of oysters do you sell?
We sell Eastern Oysters, also known as American Oysters or Crassostrea virginica.
Are your oysters sustainably sourced?
Yes they are! You can learn more about our process here (link to our process page).
What is the best way to store and handle fresh oysters?
In the fridge, cup side down with a damp towel over them. If you want to swap out the towel daily that will help keep them fresh.
Can I purchase oysters in bulk for special events or restaurants?

Are there any seasonal variations in oyster availability?
Yes. While we want to ensure you always have access to our oysters climate conditions and other factors can affect availability. Be sure to contact us in advance with any questions so you can have your order on time.
Do you provide shucking instructions for customers?
We do not, but we can direct you to some videos that can show you (add links to videos).
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept credit cards, apple pay or if you are doing local pick up we can accept cash.
Do you have a return or refund policy for merchandise?
I have an issue with my order. What should I do?
If you are concerned with how your product arrived, please call. If your order has been packed wrong, gets lost, destroyed, damaged or delivered late we may either refund your money, reship the product, or give you a discount on your next order, depending on your preferences, who made the mistake, and whether it was a complete or partial loss.
If there’s an issue with the product, we have a 100% satisfaction guarantee. We want you to be happy with your order. So, if something isn’t right or you have a question, give us a call (475-471-1113) or send us an email at info@sherwoodislandoysters.com – we’ll get back to you as fast as we can.
We reserve the right to conduct an investigation into claims that are potentially fraudulent. Please do not discard any packaging until you are completely satisfied with the product. On occasion, Sherwood Island Oysters may deem it necessary to have the purchaser provide pictures to better resolve the issue.
Can I track my order once it has been shipped?
Yes, you will receive tracking information once your order has shipped.
